Join us for a beginner friendly sewing workshop at Made & Found Wincanton and get ready for the festive season.

We will be making a fully lined Christmas stocking with a hanging loop.

All equipment and refreshments will be provided during the workshop.  You will need to bring your chosen fabric and thread.

A sewing machine will be provided but if you wish to bring and work on your own machine then you are welcome to.  Please ensure that it is working and that you bring the machine, power lead, presser foot and a bobbin reel.

Free Long stay parking is available in the Memorial Hall Car Park which is opposite the shop.

Who is it suitable for?

This workshop is suitable for beginners. Each workshop will have a maximum of 4 people so there will be plenty of time for me to help and support you through the making process.

What is included?

  • Stocking pattern and instructions that you will take away with you to enable you to make more.
  • Use of sewing machine and all necessary equipment
  • Refreshments – tea, coffee, squash, biscuits

What do I need to bring?

Fabric needs to be woven and non-stretchy.  For the outer, you could choose to make the front of the stocking in a different fabric to the back.

  • Main fabric
    45cm x 65cm - x 2 (could be 1 each of 2 different fabrics or 2 of the same)
  • Lining
    45cm x 65cm x 2 
  • Matching thread.

We will make a hanging loop out of 20mm cotton tape.  I will bring a selection with me but if you want a particular colour to match your fabric then you can bring some yourself.  You will need 20cm.
