An introductory session that will guide you through the basics of setting up and using a sewing machine. Samples will be sewn in calico that you can take away with you to refer to. Along with a whole new set of skills and increased confidence!

Once payment is made I will be in touch to discuss and arrange a suitable date for your workshop.

Timing

2 Hours – This course can run on a weekday evening or Tuesday, Saturday or Sunday daytime.

Location

All workshops are held at my studio at Made & Found, 43 High Street, Wincanton, Somerset, BA9 9JU.

Who is it suitable for?

This workshop is suitable for those who have never used a sewing machine or those who are feeling rusty and would like a recap.  I will meet you where you are at.

Skills covered

• Threading the sewing machine
• Using pins and/or clips to hold your work
• Methods for finishing raw edges
• How to sew a hem

What is included?

  • Use of sewing machine and equipment
  • Calico for samples
  • Refreshments – tea, coffee, squash, biscuits

If you would like to bring your own machine so that you are learning on the machine that you will use at home that is fine. Please ensure that it is in good working order and that you bring with you:


  • The machine itself
  • Foot pedal and power cord
  • Bobbin (and bobbin case if required)
